Bret, our most excellent Dreamland Safari Guide, skillfully drove us through sand and water, up the east fork of the Virgin river, to the starting point for this hike. We hiked up a wide sandy gulch in the Parunuweap Wilderness study area. The seven mile, roundtrip hike was a definite challenge to glutes, quads, and hamstrings. The gulch ended at the Baybill slot canyon, Its entrance resembled the closing scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
