Imnaha River Canyon

One of the most beautiful and obscure places in Oregon features the lower Imnaha River as it flows through layers of basalt lava flows laid down millennia ago. The river flows out of the Wallowa Mountains and runs parallel to the Snake River, where it joins the Snake after flowing 77 miles, and dropping from app. 5300 feet to 900. Spring greens up the hills and produces wonderful splashes of wildflower color.
