West Eagle Creek, the Meadow’s namesake, is a cold, crystal clear, alluring and endearing stream, the jewel of this extensive meadow beneath the granite peaks of the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
Meg and I enjoyed a day trip here, in blue skies high above the wildfire smoke and heat that filled La Grande. The drive takes about an hour and a half. Settling in strips away the cares of the valley below and clears the mind.
