Hope

“Source of hope, your unexpected appearances to the broken hearted disciples assured them of your unconquerable love.

Draw us close to you when we travel our Emmaus roads of vanished hope. Veer us away from wounding negativity and shriveled enthusiasm.

Navigate and encourage us to go beyond tidal waves of inner strife and scary apprehensions, filled with doomsday predictions and fears.

Bring us to a glad remembrance of your empty tomb and risen life when we feel like giving up on the possibility of future change.

Let us look with fresh eyes of the heart, and remember your companionship; we can draw strength from your presence, when the winding currents of adversity threatened to steal the last piece of serenity.

Breathe hope in us.
Again, and again.
We dare not let this virtue die.”
